Being of good character, holding high values

All good characters are loving characters according to this writer.

Love is greater than all of its parts. Love is unlimited. Love is forever growing and expanding.

A value should be the same, as it is part of love. It contains love, and comes out of love. Once a value becomes a truth of yours, try to understand it more. Allow yourself to grow into it more, and then expand yourself more with it, towards love.

Your character is always only ever as big as the love which is within you.

Our character, and our values are linked together

Our character could be said to be the degree that we live our lives consistent with our values.

A person who lacks good character is one who conversely then is not living by their values.

Values are such things as honesty, integrity, genuineness, self-discipline, dependability, trustworthiness, loyalty, privacy, morality, diligence, and there are many others too.

Your influence on other people is usually governed by the strength of how your character affects these others whilst you are also staying in line with your values.

Self-esteem and self-confidence help to build an awareness of your values, and when you link these to your spiritual gifts and to your spiritual life purpose your true character will almost always then more fully emerge.

In spiritual terms having a good character is merely about being loving to all other souls. This essentially is the only true character and it describes Jesus Christ perfectly. Loving others is a trait of the true character of such a spiritual giant as he undoubtedly was.

After this would probably figure the ability to live a harmonious life of balance by being compassionate to all beings. Living a life of exaggeration by embellishing any part of who you really are into something else always takes something away from your true character.

“Weakness of attitude becomes weakness of character.”

This is a quote from Albert Einstein, (1879 to 1955) perhaps one of the greatest minds of the twentieth century.

When you have an ongoingly positive attitude, this tends to link you into the true character traits that you value most because the line linking you to them is not then cut off by any of your negative doubting of your own realness of being.

This is why self-esteem and self-confidence are important parts of building a good character too.

Can our character and personal values ever actually restrict us?

I feel that I have tendencies to be a certain way, rather than holding certain distinct values in my life.

For example, with the value of honesty, I tend to be mostly an honest person, but I don't hold that value of honesty at all times, and I will sometimes find myself being dishonest at certain times when answering personal questions, about myself for example.

Personal values seem important enough to me, but I don't like to feel confined or restricted by them, and I want to still be able to act flexibly whenever I want to.

Perhaps if honesty was a real personal value of mine and one of my truths, I would already always be one hundred percent honest at all times.

To be able to do this though would show, I think, that I was also a person of integrity, and someone who lives by my own values.

I am really still struggling to identify my own personal values, and I want to be more sure of them before I commit myself to them or to make them already into a habit, which would mean me following them at all times.

I want to test even more the value of my own personal values first.

All this probably means though is that I want to have a bit both ways for now.

Everything matters

I need to learn that everything matters.

Everything we do affects everything else. I need to find my values, and not push them aside anymore, amongst these things that really matter the most to me.

When, or if, I finally do this my character will be better formed then too. Right now I am a rather feebly, weak character, and having firm values would help me to be strengthened into more believing in my real self.

Our values are the qualities that our soul most aspires to.

They are inbuilt into our soul, but they often do still have to be re-found, or re-established, because our ego, or maybe it is some other part of our human factors, have usually covered them over with some type of self-doubt, or lack of trust in our true selves as they are.

Tendencies are at least the beginnings of recontacting these values, and they will help you if you are intending to, and trying to overcome your ego and human factors, in order to learn to live again from your soul's true values.

All life is important. All life holds value.

Everything in life is helping us to understand the connection of our own truths to all of the other truths in existence, or to our personal values, to the societies values, and to the values being held by all other people.

Personal values are no more and no less than the truths that you have found and made your own, and they are the very same truths that you are now are wanting to live by.

We go through live trying to find and to determine our own truths, as we find them from experiencing them in our life, and these truths accumulate together and eventually form our values for us.

Values are a number of truths joined together into a certain trait or characteristic that we then strive to maintain in our lives, and to live by, and from.

Honesty for example is a personal value, but the concept of personal honesty is also a great truth for you to find. The Universe itself is always honest in the way that it operates. The Universe always truly and honestly follows its own rules and laws, without ever breaking them, at any time.

The tendency that we have at the beginning of our journey to follow certain values of other people, or to try to abide by values that we read about somewhere else is really only an awareness of the truths that exist in us and in the Universe.

These tendencies will never turn into values though until they become part of our truth, and so are being owned by us then, and so also being lived by us then too.

We all have to learn to see that the tendency to be honest is actually coming from our observing somehow the working of the Law of Honesty or truth, and which simply states that honesty is an attribute of love.

All values have their origin like this only from within love. All characters are based on the ultimate character, God. This is what it means that we are all built within his image.

I find, now that I have found values and principles. I lived the first 50 some years without any, I was lost and now I am found...Another wonderful post.

I'm the same Utah Jay,

I have never really worked out what my values were until now. My character has been chameleon like up until now, changing all the time depending who I am with.

I have come to a stage in life where dishonesty and untruth on my part, even to think of it, create revulsion within me. Once we talk only the truth, walk the talk, life becomes a cake walk as we have time only to remember the good things. Love should have no borders and we invite bliss thereby. Thanks for the uplifting share, Spirited - siva

thanks siva, it still takes a certain courage to walk past the easy, or dishonest, or untruthful way, which I can see that you have siva.
