Black Hole and Ignorance: Two poems

Are black holes the best gluttons? Here is a poem on the strange celestial phenomenon and another one on how a fanatic can scorn science.

Black Hole

O glutton, lucky is your shrunken life
See, endless stars as pudding in your way.
To quarrel with, there is no red dwarf wife
Since peaceful void that is where you stay.
As an ant lion traps its prey, you curve the space
And time
to make a warp to swallow things
-Pickled planets, comets, meteorites
O gut of greedy pace,
With the most powerful gravitational tongues
You lick out creamy smoke and flying lights!

A fanatic was addressing a gathering,
“Our god is the only one,
The most powerful!
What absurdity is science
Compared to our holy book!”

Were those microphone and sound system
And the mobile phone in his pocket
Fallen from heaven?

Without realizing
Scientific knowledge as a divine blessing
He jabbers
And inflicts cataract in audience.

Thanks for reading!

Religion and science should complement each other; otherwise beliefs become blind and that invites misery. Haven't we suffered enough? Our Gods may be different, but we are of the same stuff! Yes, blackholes will make mincemeat of us eventually! Thought provoking, John - siva
