Blackness

The first of my poems that I am publishing for others to (hopefully) enjoy. My writing is my soul bared, so I hope you will find something to relate to.

Blackness

Hopelessly lost with no place to go
Helplessly going, though where I don't know.
Surrounded by cries, look for escape
No source of light. Nothing but space
And blackness

Caught in a trap of deceit and lies
They came, they went, took my life
Left me here helpless with nowhere to go
Left me here hopeless alone and cold
In this blackness

And what about you-why did you lie?
You said you'd love me the rest of my life.
Why would you leave me alone here to die
Please, all I need, just answer me why
I'm in blackness

And what of this life, growing inside
The most precious gift-the gift of life
A part of us both, the scariest ride
But can't you see that it's going to die
In this blackness.

Spirit and body, no longer one
Flesh and blood, all is now done
I'm lost. I'm gone. Forever alone
I'm in blackness
