A short poem about a very special Donkey "Charlotte"

She needed aid, you came her way
Helped supply her daily hay.
With tummy full, she's now content
That is what your donation meant.

She sends her thanks with one big bray
Hopes to meet you one fine day.
Her past so bad is now behind
She's loved and cared for, has peace of mind.

Her friends are Pickle and youngster Colt
Whom the vet had to “doctor” so he wouldn't bolt.
They all live together in a nice warm shed
With plenty good straw lining their bed.

When the sun is warm she likes to be out
Grass under her feet, freely moving about.
Knocks on the back door, looks in the pane
One nosey donkey with a long shaggy mane.

A bit of a madam who likes to be boss
She's just as likely to give you a toss.
But don't be put off, please come and meet
The friendly brown donkey with a kick in her feet.
