Children and war

This is my personal story. I was just a little child when I've "experienced " the war

Children and the war

When I was just a child, a war
came "knocking" on my homeland door.
Maybe "knocking" is not the right word to use
but it's something that only a child could choose.

At that time I didn't understand much
for me the most important was my mother's touch.
Sometimes there were bombs flying over my head
but I don't think that a little girl understands a word "dead".

For me everything was like a game
and I must say that I'm not ashamed.
My parents were always worried for us
but I didn't get all that fuss.

When you're a child you only see the sun
you only smile and you wanna have fun.
You don't think about the violence and the cold war
you just think how to get out and play more and more.

Just now I realize what my country has been trough
Just now I realize the sacrifice my parents had to do.
Hown much pain, nights with no sleep at all
and I was just thinking how to dress my doll.

The most wonderful thing in the world is to be a child
to have fun,to play, to be wild.
Not to understand the stupid things that grownups do
But to smile, laugh ,scream and live without a clue.
