A poem about struggles. it places people in perspective of terminally ill patient who is held down by the illness, causing pain to others around as well.

Clutches of Pain

Walking out of the room seemed so hard
People who made life as joyful as it was jarred
"It ain't gonna be the same again"
"I wish that time could turn back man"
And then i met her,
The one who unknowingly made my heart spur.
We shared tons of good time,
Until the angel of death felt we were a crime.
We entered this white room alot
Just to see the unfolding of our plot
The process was painful, long and scary
Yet you showed no fear, staying jolly and merry.
You always said, " Don't worry crazy"
However, I knew, that our future was hazy.
Soon, our plot reached he thinnest part of the book,
But your attitude proved the things you had under looked
Now i stand, in this white empty room
with no one else but me and you
We knocked hard on walls, we screamed for help
But all that replied was a painful whelp.
These walls were all we had
Keeping us together within the concrete pads
The whelps from outside, so loud and bright
telling us our end, like a dawning light
I held on to you, praying for a miracle
But no, the walls started getting lyrical
They said our names our every memory
Even down to our every vacation city
"Its too late.." They reply
The line I hated most, that made me cry
I held on to her tight, hoping mortality could be prevented
But we both were dearly resented.
Now i stand here once again, alone in this white room
Praying that I would shortly meet my doom.
But that time never came..
I was once again alone, stuck within clutches of pain.
