Creating our World - Karma in Action

The world we find ourselves in is created by us. Nature nurtures us all along and what we reap is from the seeds we have sown. Babies come with wonder in their eyes and an inner knowing – let us not poison them with our warped thinking.

Masters of Destiny

Reading the headlines of newspapers or watching news on television make us wonder why history is repeating itself with a vengeance. We are caught in a vicious cycle. On deeper analysis the issues are simple – they are the results of our actions. As you sow, so shall you reap – we reap the consequences of what we think, speak or act. That is the law of cause and effect - it is as it should be and it is a master stroke from our Creator for all species. Being at the top of the pecking order, we have no enemies and so our existence depends on us and other species depend on us too. We are co-creators in this humongous process and if we fail there could be others waiting to step-in – it is only fair in the whole creative process. We cannot stand in its way and no one else also should. It is creative destruction and part of the natural selection theory as all creation has a time frame.

Only our species can make drastic changes in our lifestyle but the basics should not be altered – otherwise we will cease to be human though our attitude and approach are changing too. We are more into instant gratification with impatience taking over our thinking and action. Freedom and democracy has meant everyone asserting themselves, be they be individuals or countries, with multifarious beliefs also at play. We pay a high price for our intolerance and bigotry. We console ourselves that these are inbuilt in our psyche despite our being increasingly made aware of the deadly consequences of such repugnant lifestyles.

Emotions Trump Reason and Logic

The world is coming to terms with the loss of innocent lives lost due to the shooting down of Malaysian Airlines flight over Ukraine. Russia is blamed and Putin is getting cornered along with his heavy ammunition of nuclear weapons! Russia has also spun a tale that Putin was the real target as his flight also took the same path! Then we have thousands killed by internecine, fractious, killings that are also taken as part of living and dying! That innocent children are also killed everywhere hardly makes a dent in our collective conscience though individually we do feel the pain of these inhuman actions. That we are still killing others for their beliefs is beyond comprehension from a species supposed to know more about life and death than others. It shows we are slaves to raw emotions than logical thinking.

Minority Set Evil Agenda

Are we not sowing more and more evil deeds by the day despite knowing the consequences of such actions? Don’t we also know that 99% are never into these insane actions and want to be left alone? Then how come the 1% sets our agenda? Our children get killed much before their time is up – just get a peek into our cruel world and then are dispatched due to our depravity. And we carry on soon after with a take that these are just the way it is! What a blot on our collective conscience that we do not live and let live! Do we expect our Creator to descend from high heavens to hold our hands and show us the way? If that is the case what use giving us the faculties to think, ponder and reflect!

Sow and Reap

We cannot escape the law of karma. It is inbuilt in the creative process and the consequences will take its course without fail. The revenge motive is triggered the moment injustice is perpetrated. The sense of injustice is hard to forget and it is only a matter of time for the defeated to regroup. What is happening in Iraq is clear cut. The one painted as evil is gone and now it is free for all and total intolerance with everyone taking law into own hands. The worst sufferers are the women and children but humanity triumphs with ordinary souls rising above the din and dust created by the supposed leaders who butcher with impunity. When we stop fighting for peace we are all defeated.

Change our Destiny

Is it not time that we made the vital change? We all have sinned - in its broadest term – and it is time to forgive and forget. Or we choose to live in perpetual enmity and misery. The oneness in humanity is clear – Putin’s daughter lives in Holland with her partner raising the angst after the airline crash that killed many Dutch. Is she responsible for her father’s political actions? Unless and until we are ready to step out of self-defeating thinking and actions we will pay a heavier price by the day for our follies mostly by killing more innocents. Let us stop the folly of our thinking and acting that one God is greater than another – it is plain common sense that we are same, cut from the same cloth, whatever our beliefs may be! Children come from a single creative process and the dead cannot be identified what beliefs they held – we know only they were human! Marriage between opposite sexes is bound to produce offspring and faith is what we teach the future generation and they can be molded with love or hate. Let not our fairy tales remain as stories from a hoary past but we can incorporate the good in our daily lives. We should have sagacity and wisdom to create an ideal world and for that we should sow the right seeds to reap the end product. Let us not leave for a heaven before our time with blood in our hands and a warped mind. Then we are defeated and prove unfit to be born with a conscience and inner prompt to live the way we are meant to.

Yes LeRain. Our actions are more emotional with ego and pride influencing our thinking. That is why some warn that there are limits to cornering powerful leaders like Putin who can lash out with nuclear weapons. Also we have North Korean leader Kim who is even more unpredictable - not that others are logical including western leaders! The main issue is all want to win all the time with own logic more influenced by emotions and false pride - siva

Sir, are you familiar with the phrase 'preaching to the choir'?
Those of us who agree with your words are the ones who listen and nod our heads. The problem is with those who do not agree, and do not listen, and do not care what you or I or any of us say.
In many ways, I am like you; I tire myself out trying to tell people about common sense and compassion and logic; and those who agree, they listen and nod their heads. And then, there are the others.
And yet, we must keep trying, mustn't we?
Namaste.

I get your point r. nuñez. However, we should never feel defeated as we are always nearing the tipping point of common sense prevailing. As is said in the end - we fought the good fight It is clear the 1% creates all the problems dragging the innocent 99% to pay the ultimate price like what happened to the airline getting shot down. In India people expect every evil to disappear by electing a new leader but the real effect will come only when 99% back him at every level. The evil will always test the will of the good - when the majority cowers, few are emboldened to set the agenda like what is happening now in Iraq, Namaste - siva

Thanks for thinking aloud Kingwell. Religion gave us discipline and the guidance to do right but when many beliefs sprouted, even creating many Gods, basic teachings got misinterpreted by few due to their ego and false pride. It is indeed ironic to see people of same faith killing each other for flimsy reasons, trying to appease their God, like what is happening now in Iraq and Syria! Others have gone there to take a shortcut to heaven! I am sure no God will be appeased or amused by how His name is dragged into our petty squabbles leading to killing of those He has sent before their time. I have seen those who profess no faith just help those in need as it is the right thing to do - siva

Thanks ~ Siva ~ for another incredibly thought provoking Article. I always like to see and reference what is found in our Creator's Wonderful Book of Teaching on Life & Love, regarding the issues and situations we face. I found these statements that pertain to what you have written here:
While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Genesis 8:22
Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap. Galatians 6:7
From my perspective our challenge ~ then ~ as concerned individuals, is to "press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us." Philippians 3:14

Thank you Helen for your wholehearted support and input by interpreting The Word from the Holy Bible. I believe the spark of Creator is within each of us like within other species too. We can differentiate the good from bad, love from hate and harm. Even newborns from all species know how to safeguard themselves from harm. All beliefs proclaim peace - the word "Islam" is derived from peace and safety, but now few get hunted down due to the way they follow the religion! Is it not semantics, false pride and ego of few self-claimed leaders triumphing against reason and logic? That newborn babies and pregnant women are on the run is beyond belief! How come the majority are feeling so helpless? Their voice is hardly audible thus emboldening the fanatical.

Having attended Christian and Muslim institutions of learning, though not belonging to either religion, makes me think aloud what is happening has nothing to do with religion. In fact, Hindu religious masters reflect on the life of Jesus Christ and compare that to the their teachings.

I cannot understand the need for killings of the innocents to prove a belief or a point. It is ultimate human ignorance. Yes, even rabid dogs have a better reason to attack! For me, I would do whatever I can right here as co-creator and that is about it! siva

Very well said, dear Subra; you have elucidated the law of karma and it is as it should be - fair dinkum. It is like telling lies, one indulges in them on a daily basis to cover up the earlier lies, thus becoming a habit . I have seen some taking advantage of others - mostly the ordinary, caring, folks - as a way of life and then their own get impatient to get to their ill gotten loot! That is genuine comeuppance from what they sowed. I was astonished to hear a teenager eager to behead another human being. This reflects the worst in human trait than based on any religious teaching. Humanity should be at the pedestal; now we are getting so much carried away by our handed down beliefs to the extent it has become "us" and "them" even within the same religion - how God is prayed to and the rituals involved. Common sense goes out the window. What use religion if it serves only to divide us - siva

Thanks for your input Poh Tiong Ho. "Every" God worth His salt should be able to take care of Himself, capable of turning non-believers into believers. No need for our help for enforcing His supposed writ. Certain truths are inalienable but others have to be flexible to suit the times. What goes on in the name of religion like initiating wars on beliefs is madness. The mighty believe in threats than reason. Now due to territorial disputes in South China Sea islands countries are increasing their military budgets to counter China. The losers are the 99% and the gainers will be the war mongers as usual. It is good that the new China is practical and cooperates with even their earlier tormentor Japan though issues persist and surface. What I learn from history is it can be emotional and I am happy that China and India are cooperating as their common enemy is poverty - siva
