After all the past drama with fires and the damage and the injuries, it seems here comes a new dose of all that! Or shall it be better this time?

Deja Vu? WHAAAAAAAAAA no!!!

I'm sleeping, having my Sunday afternoon sleep. Then Mother bursts in.

"Go with Father; he's going to go have a look at the fire!", she says in a very panicky voice.

I look up.

It's Sunday afternoon again, and I'm smelling smoke again, right after I've had my nap on my bed, again. I can see through the window my washing hanging outside getting smoked again. It's extremely windy, again, spreading the fire at a phenomenal speed, again.

Haven't we been through this before? Oh yes, and the previous time we almost died and thought we had lost everything.

Oh no. Wildfire again. Well, this time I know I have to go around all my rooms and studios and close the windows, so the smoke can't get it. I do it.

I also grab my video camera.

I really, really, really don't feel like going through all this again. It was an extreme trauma last time.

Well, whether I like it or not, what's happening is happening.

Father and I drive in the direction of the fire. Because of what happened last time, the farmers in the area have organized themselves for an occurence like this.

In fact, they are so well organized, while Father and I are still on our way, we get an SMS that thanks everybody for their help as the fire is now extinguished. So quickly?

Father and I still drive ahead to go see where the fire was. There are about 15 to 20 bakkies, vans, trucks and tractors, many with firefighting tanks and sprays. No wonder it was out so quickly; great organization made sure nobody had to go through the potential trauma that the thing could have turned into.

Waldorf and Uncle Gus are there with our firefighting equipment. Osborn would also have come with the tractor and watersprayer, but it's not necessary now.

Well, the relief is great when I see everything's basically under control. I just don't know if I will have the strength ever again to go through the trauma of last time.
