How long will this continue to go on, how many more children will suffer.

Don't Leave Us this Way

This is our bed
We sleep, eat, and drink here
We live one day at a time
We have little or no hope for tomorrow
We can't afford to dream
We never had the chance to stand out
We are invisible to the outside world
Nobody wants to know us
We would change things if we could
But, I am a child
Holding a baby

All That Glitters is Not Gold

Look at me
My golden years are a lot of things
But, golden is not one of them
They have chipped away at my benefits
They have chopped up my prescription drug plan
All my years of planning a dream, are now on hold, yet again
The gold has been sucked from my glitter
Time, and waiting for change is not on my side
I waited so long for those golden years
Only to find out, all that glitters is not gold

Stark reality that few face and the rest close their eyes mostly. It is well within our grasp for a better world. There is no need for one of glitter - an inclusive society is enough. Thanks Shirley for bringing up the reality with powerful words and emotions - siva
