Dream

A vivid dream, but I remembered enough to compose. Should there be any budding dream interpreters reading this, would you enlighten me please.

Dream

The lion tried to attack us. He was quite fierce.
If he had caught us, our skin he would have pierce.
He had gold and tan fur, and a bushy brown mane,
He kept leaping at us, over and over again.
The attack continued. I called out your name.
I waited and waited, but you never came.
As I traversed the fence trying to evade the beast,
He seemed determined for his attack did not cease.
I was all alone in this National Park,
Not knowing how I got here. Scrambling in the dark.
I was safe on the fence, safely out of is reach
Pirched upon knitted metal. Not daring to screech.
And where I pirched, I sank deep in thought,
Wake up from this dream, I think I ought.
