A collection of sad poems for those who have suffered the loss of a special love

Echoes of Goodbye

Tears shed in the dark of night
Mistakes made and long forgotten
Lonely echoes of goodbye
She tastes her bitter tears

Every drop scorches like acid
In her wretchedly dry mouth
No word will ever quench the
Never ending thirst

Sitting with an empty soul,
Breathless and alone
Walls close in and everything fades
This is a deception; a simple masquerade

Wearing the face
Of her painted on guilt
To pay tribute to their last goodbye
Its ending for no one to know

Eternal loneliness knocks upon her door
Dragging her into distinct numbness
The only sound is her muffled screams
The ones of the past she can't let go, lonely echoes of goodbye
oh how they echo
