The Egyptian Army has overthrown the president who had only served for only one year. A lot is happening in this big country

The rise and rise of President Morsi

The Ousted president Mohamed Morsi was born 8 August 1951. He was the fifth president of the country which has a huge history that dates back to over 4000 years ago. He only served the people of Egypt from June 30 2012 to 3rd July 2013.

He earned a bachelor's and master's degree in engineering from Cairo University in 1975 and 1978, He then earned his Ph.D. in materials science from the University of Southern California.

Morsi was first elected to parliament in 2000 after which he rose to become the country leader in 2012. He earned the reputation of governing the country by himself when he granted himself unlimited powers to "protect" the nation in late November 2012, and the power to legislate without judicial oversight or review of his acts,

This led to protest through out the country in 2012, this led him to him annulled his decree which had expanded his presidential authority and removed judicial review of his decrees, an Islamic official said, but added that the effects of that declaration would stand

This led him to be ousted from power.

The uprising

The uprising stashed in June and in July 3rd 2013 the then Egypt Defence minister went on air and declared that the army had overthrown president Morsi. The reason given for this was that he was ruling with iron fist helped by the Muslim brotherhood members.

Lets pray for peace of Egypt
