An ode to young 'uns everywhere - a tribute to the joy, energy and merriness they bring into our lives.

Eight score lil lovely bobtails

Merry a bunch were they, the bobtails, as they rolled,
As they hopped and flipped and gamboled,
All feet in lightness, all minds a-swayin',
All eyes upon them, all hearts a-prancin',
Stalk and flower, pretty in color and stance,
Cloud and bower moving in lazy elegance,
But oh, where have the lil ones gone now?
Leaving the bearded father longing, head a-bow,
Moon-princess has come out, her eyes a-searchin',
Sometimes in silvery fullness, sometimes a-hidin',
Moonbeams are spread out, scouring hills and vales here and there,
Sparkling on the gurgling streams, glistening on dew drops everywhere,
Oh, be not despondent, my veiled princess, the light of my dream,
Oh, do not abandon hope yet, my sprightly silver-beam,
The lil ones shall come yet, they need their rest and sleep,
As I, the mountain-grey watch in patience, o'er their keep,
The morrow shall bring the merriment yet again,
My bunnies shall be on the meadow, dancin' in the rain.
