This piece examines the thoughts of a person trapped in their mind unable to break free of the analysis and simply be and live. In a sense the person recognises the state that they aspire to but despite best efforts remains trapped in a thought cycle. Paralysis by analysis.

Elusionary Visions

Searching deep
Still don't understand
What exists
Bubbling under

Think too much
Live too little
Happiness right around the next bend
Eludes me yet again
Though I steadily search

Where are the jewel encrusted images I envision
They remain
Carefree thoughts
A shapless, shifting fog
Drifting far out of reach

Why can't I be happy
Why can't I forget
The ghosts of yesterday
Still haunt my waking moments
Intrude on my dreams

So I escape
Into my quiet little world
Unreachable - staring blankly, not seeing
Here yet not

Living in Limbo-land
No hurt can penetrate these walls
I'm safe for now
Til I reclaim my place among the living

The writing mirrors the writer. This poem is to let people see an emotion of unique and a thoughtful person. Like such emotional world.
