It's important to have aims, but most important of all is to dedicate time and discipline to fulfill them to succeed.

Entertainment free from drugs or alcohol

First of all, one has to have a rich personal lifestyle. By rich, I don't mean that one has to have a substantial bank account, of course. By a rich lifestyle, I mean having an education and aims to pursue. One, of course, needs friends and a social life, but this social life doesn't necessarily have to be drugs and alcohol every weekend till the small hours.
Does anyone enjoy having such repeated entertainment? Does anyone enjoy being drunk or on drugs permanently? If there's anyone enjoying such sort of entertainment, to everyone with its likes, but they're leading on the path for self destruction and isolation, because nobody will want anything with someone who is almost always drunk or taking drugs.
All of us have done crazy things when we were in our teens or early twenties, but there comes a time when we have to stop to think of what we're doing to ourselves.
I recall a relative who told me that if I need to drink often, it meant that I was getting bored when I was off from work. How right he was. I was in my late teens and to be honest I wasn't doing much apart from working to provide me with an income, but I had nothing else to do except going to pubs or clubs when I was off.
I wouldn't say that nowadays I'm a teetotaller, because I still enjoy a good wine with meals or a beer now and again, but my spare time is now alcohol free.
I now want to be sober, because I want to do things and to enjoy my life to the full and I don't want people go apart from me because I smell alcohol or I can't have a clear speech because of drugs that on the other hand, I've never had.
Some people will think I am a puritan of sorts, but I'm not. It's only that I've thought that clubbing or going to pubs is quite a waste of time and money and that this time I spend for hours on end in a pub , I could be doing something worthwhile for myself.
It's important to have aims, it's even more important to dedicate the necessary time and discipline to fulfill any of them.

Great article. Life is much more enjoyable when you know what's going on and are productive.
