Eternal Promise

They can´t see her, but somehow, she is still there, determined to wait until the end of time for the man she loved the most.

Just a promise...

She was always there. Even when no one could see her, Alexa was still on her favorite corner of the garden, making sure her loved roses won´t perish out of thirst and sadness. At first, Alexa´s heart hurt every time someone passed by the garden, without even noticing her presence there. She couldn´t understand why they were ignoring her. Was it something she said, or what? Didn’t they know she loved them more than anything? Luckily, time managed to make Alexa feel a bit content with her situation, as she learned to rejoice her tormented soul on the natural beauty around her. Yet, at certain times, Alexa wanted to forget everything about the promise she made, and just find a way to unchain herself and find her own way to touch the sky with her own hands.
If only the promise was so easy to break! It was not a silly thing promised by a silly kid on a playground. It was the vow she made to always stay near him, by the side of the of the lovely man who made feel her like even on the darkest nights, there was a thousand reasons to smile.
How could she have known about that demonic bus driver who hit her as she was leaving her house? No one told Alexa that her young and promising life would end so suddenly, without even giving her a chance to say her goodbyes.
But there was no point in crying or trying to place blame on something or someone. At least, life gave her a last chance to get back on spirit form to the garden where she shared a lot of romantic afternoons with her love. Yes, perhaps it wasn´t a perfect way to spend one´s afterlife, but at least, she had a beautiful place to wait, until the end of time, for the heaven to reunite her forever with the love of her life.

We throw words so easily without thinking at the true meaning of them.
