Interesting moments from the lives of famous composers.

George Gerschwin

One day in the 1920s, the great American composer George Gershwin was travelling to concert in Boston. While he was sitting alone on the train, he suddenly got the idea for his most famous work, RHAPSODY IN BLUE. When you listen to the music today, you can clearly her the train wheels and whistle!

Ludwig van Beethoven

Night was falling and the Moon was shining, Beethoven was walking around Vienna- he was looking for inspiration. As he was passing a small house, he heard one of his compositions. Somebody was playing it on the piano but kept on making mistakes. Beethoven was intrigued and decided to find out who it was. He entered the house and realised that the girl at the piano was blind. He sat and played music to her for over an hour. Suddenly the Moon appeared at the window. Beethowen was excited by the special atmosphere in the room and began to compose his famous Moonlight Sonata

Fryderyk Chopin

In the summer of 1837, the Polish composer Chopin was living in Paris. Late one evening he was composing alone in his music room. While he was sitting at the piano, a small kitten suddenly ran across the piano keys. Chopin liked the strange melody and he tried to write it down. In 1838, he published a new composition. The title? - THE CAT WALTZ!

Incidentally Bach was rediscovered by Mendelssohn only because the latter went to the butchers and got the music score of Bach in which his meat was wrapped. It was what brought back the music of Bach from the Baroque Era which contained Harmony, Counterpoint and Figured Bass that is now made into a static musical composition.
Now that part of composition is artistic creativity which none figured out was the start of Chordal progression that created musical melody as a whole.
I am a LTCL trained pianist/trumpeter and also a musical composer myself with an artistic drive within the field of vocabulary alongside musical composition.
Was born into it.
