Loss is hard to bear. This can create a fear, which can force us to change for good or bad.

When we are unable to achieve a target, we term it as our failure. Many people are afraid of the failure, which can have both the positive and negative effect.

For example, Batsman around the globe consistently failed against the Sri Lankan spin bowler Ajantha Mendis initially. The fear of losing pride, public backlash and lose of position in the team forced Indian Batsmen to develop solution against him. Three main batsmen of India Virender Sehwag, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Suresh Raina quickly developed the technique to play against his bowling, especially the “carom ball”. Such have been the impact that Mendis is almost out of the International Cricket.

Fear can induce change: An example

No one wants to lose and will change if it can increase their success. Online writers try to keep watch on the online publishing websites to find out websites that can pay more. They try to identify the possible reasons which can help in making their career in a particular website successful. For example, when Triond was chosen by some writers for online publications, some 14 reasons were identified which indicated the possibility of its future success. People focused on health articles because it helped them make more money.

Fear can change goals

Online writers sometimes change their goal too. They write articles which are in very high demand but transiently. They even write articles which attract consistent but not very high number of views. This decision is sometimes dependent on fear of missing the target for a month or a year due to several possible reasons. These decisions, if backfire, they get classified as wrong decisions.
