All about the RTI (Right to Information) Act.A power given to citizen of India to question the governance of an organisation. Its significance and awareness needs to spread at every level of our society.

Right to Information Act

Those back breaking 'Taxes' impositions do take the breath away from working class or one should say the Liberal class on certain drenching Office Days.Income Tax, Sales Tax, Service Tax, Food Tax, Capital gain Tax, Wealth Tax, its an unending chase. So, finally the common man ( Aam Aadmi) let substantial bucks slip through their pay slips, what a pain, ain't it?.This is a very obvious and extremely 'Its there to see' kind of thought process that breeds inside the working community. Our liberalism is a big question. The corrupt Vultures know this self- assuring and self-centered psyche of their prey, hence no worries regarding a banter from the Public, they can do tricks and scams and can even improvise.

So, first of all I would like to salute all those who stood for the enactment of this act.It was a long battle for sure but the outcome was a Power House. It should be called 'Feel the Democracy Act'.We have baseless and flimsy arguments brimming all the time but there projection is not at the right place. This act of RTI gives a direction to that aggression inside.Power to question the authenticity and transparency of any govt. organisation is something we should put the accelerator on.

Looking from another perspective, it gives the young blood a sense of connectivity with the constitution. They are able to experience their Country distinctively. One gets the measure of viscosity and Lucidity of our system, how responsive or proactive the people of authority are?.It broadens our intellect and can stretch its wings.Releasing our brewing animosity for the system feeds our rationality in a way which instills a belief in our democratic way of working.

Time for trivia

The Right to Information Act 2005 (RTI) is an Act of the Parliament of India "to provide for setting out the practical regime of right to information for citizens.

The Act empowers every citizen to:

Ask any questions from the Government or seek any information.
Take copies of any governmental documents.
Inspect any governmental documents.
Inspect any Governmental works.
Take samples of materials of any Governmental work.

Under the Act, all authorities covered must appoint their Public Information Officer (PIO). Any person may submit a request to the PIO for information in writing.

The tangibility and significance of this Act.

Its reach has no boundation. All age groups can have their say.It can be used from the very grass root levels of our society to bring a change of substance.

In my support I would like to throw some light on these authentic events regarding the significance of RTI.

Eight year old Aishwarya wrote a three-point application to the public information officer (PIO) of the Chief Minister’s office seeking an answer to why the garbage is being dumped in front of her school,

70 year old Kaniram got his entitlements of food grain under Public Distribution System (PDS) that was denied to him for one year.

In the first year of National RTI, 42,876 (not yet official) applications for information were filed to Central (i.e. Federal) public authorities.

Its awakening time people.Gone are the days when you made excuses of being helpless and voiceless. There is an act trying to respire amid suffocation.Open those windows and let it soar out.Stamp your authority on the authority.

We have a similar Bill pending here in Congress. Corrupt congressmen and senators have been foot dragging on this for obvious reasons. Thanks for sharing.

Our government is up in the air at the moment. They cant think fast enough of ways to rob us of the little bit of cash we have left. They are a disgrace, An insult to our intelligence,in this day and age. They make a cockup of it and we have to pay for their stupidity. They should be ashamed of themselves our forefathers would turn in their graves should they know what has happened to the country they fought so hard for.
