Feelings of a House

This poem depicts how a house feels and lives when people move in and out of it.

Have you ever thought...

If house has life, how would it feel? If it is left alone, no one cleans it and it will be bored. Only when people fill it, it will feel lively. It will witness their feelings, sometimes agree and sometimes disagree with their opinions. But when they leave it behind, again it will feel lonely. But it thinks about good old times of the previous tenant and waits for a new tenant.

Who's there in the house?

A house never likes to be empty,
When the first tenants enter,
It is very happy and enjoys
The family, with their joys and sorrows,
Their dreams and aims,
Their fears and dislikes.
When they leave, it gives them
A tearful farewell,
And dwells on the feelings
Left by the family,
And waits for a new family
To fill its day and make a new home.

Hello Shona, I just wanted to say that your poem put a smile on my face. I will think differently now about my home. That was a sweet poem
