Fighting Off Illness

I walk almost everywhere and as the weather gets colder I find myself in need of defense from illness.

Checking the Temperature

While it is warmer this year than it was last year the temperatures still range from the forties to sixties right now. The higher temperatures make me sweat, and when the winds are in motion I freeze as I walk. I would be short on winter clothing and dressing for the walk takes time because I have to consider that the stores have the heat on.

Leaving Later in the Morning
Instead of leaving right after the bus runs like I used to I wait until about 8 in the morning when the temperatures warm up. Of course with it getting colder and waiting longer I can take my time and get some things done before I leave.

When I take the baby with me I'll be making sure that she is bundled up and the wind is not blowing with an icy chill to the bone.


As the danger of illness from outside temperatures gets higher I will be ensuring that we are both resting longer than we would when the weather is warmer. We get up early, but we go to bed earlier in the winter than we otherwise would.

I am forcing them to stay hydrated, and ensuring that there are enough drinks fixed up for the baby to grab one without worry of spilling one in the floor as she pours it.

Light Meals

I am keeping meals as light as possible to avoid our getting overtired from them. We have to keep up our energy levels to know if we are getting sick since fatigue is a sign for us.

While we are doing everything that we can in order to avoid illness, I am stocking the medicine cabinet and the pantry with items for comfort. I am also attempting to stock up on things that will aid our recovery in the event we do get sick.

Healthy eating is very important to saying healthy. The more real foods you eat, and the fewer processed ones, I am sure you will be healthier. So no packaged foods, just things you can make yourself, fruits, vegetables, and so forth. Stay healthy.

Rest is the natural way of healing while the rest of the body syatem are still on battle field fighting off the illness. Thanks for thsi article and glad to see your post which seem far and in between yet worthy for a nice read.
