A poem about a man going of to war and leaving his family at home to worry.

Coming Home

He’s fighting for his country
wife at home playing mum
Up to six months on duty
Cant wait to come home
The children growing fast
Missing daddy with a tear
Another few months pass
Not long before daddy’s her
Mum and kids hear the bell
Happily daddy’s home at last
All the eyes begin to well
For better times you couldn’t ask
Now its time to go away again
Queen and country to fight for
Suffering heartache and pain
Keep his head down in this war
Mum and kids worry all day
Waiting for the next home leave
Its very hard to live this way
But when he’s home it’s a relief
