Finding love on wikinut

I just had an amusing thought, what if a wikinutter met a fellow wikinutter and this meeting brought about a lasting friendship?

Wikinutting is a way of meeting people

When we write and read on wikinut we are constantly being exposed to people, their ideas and views. This writing and reading is not done for the purpose of correspondence, rather, it is done for creative purposes, for monetary incentives or perhaps simply for fun. Nonetheless we meet people, some of whom we like, appreciate, admire. In sense, this could be an ideal forum for actually meeting interesting people of all walks of life (provided they ave internet access, of course).

Unwanted advances

Of course, there are people posting comments on wikinut pages who are essentially spammers. These are readily identifiable because they place their email address and generally offer to send pictures or otherwise correspond. The spammers may have a wikinut account but they generally have very little or no posts since they are not here for the writing. It is best to ignore the spammers and perhaps delete their unwanted and undesired comments.

Nonetheless, perhaps genuine meetings are possible

Nonetheless, perhaps genuine meetings and friendships are possible. I can readily imagine myself going to a medical meeting abroad and perhaps running into esteemed wikinut writers like Funom Makama. Wikinut actually has the option of corresponding directly with other authors if they accept such correspondence. Thus, I can imagine a situation where two Wikinutters meet, realize that they have corresponded in the past and hit it off immediately as great friends. Such a relationship built on mutual respect and basic sharing of knowledge could easily blossom into a lifelong and lasting relationship.

I suppose anything is possible but aren't there more than enough matchmaking sites on the web already without trying to use a content publishing site as one too?

sigh, you are probably right Jerry, I just thought it would make an amusing story if anyone wrote about it...

Ya those kinds of messages in the comments are certainly spam, I wonder if they get replies?

Hard to say for sure, Mark. People that are really desperate for love might, but it's hard for me to picture someone like that being a successful write on Wikinut or on any other legitimate online content site.

Well Legend..you can tell a lot about a person from what they write..and as we are a writing site, it's very possible
that relationships could form, circumstances permitting.
We all know who we admire as fellow authors and why, and we all know those we don't, that perception is strongly formed through the eye of the reader, comments
reveal a lot too.
Interesting post, thank you

Well there are always liars and people who want to get lucky. If they are unworthy, ask LoverME and party they are always ready to show LOVE the physical way by knocking on doors if needed too with personalised services and then take you to court claiming ownership.

Legend, That would make for an interesting story for some... I can see that. But, a true wriiter's passion and the love of their life IS writing and the art of communication. If romance happens on Wikinut, I would hope it is because they share the same passion for writing and the topics that they share. I love being able to connect with people... but for me it is more because I love the art of expression and writing is for me the lovemaking between my fingers and my computer keys. The orgasm of this lovemaking is when it is approved for publishing and people enjoy what you have written. It is then time for a cigar and a drink with a sleek smile on one's face. This is how I view the passion of writing.

Well Freedom, if two people have in common a passion for writing, might that not make a basis for a relationship? Writing together is no less of a love sensation (and lay off the cigars and alcohol - I'm a doctor and I want to read your stuff for many years to come...)

Legend, You have a point. There are ways to share the passion of writing in more ways than one. As far as the cigars and alcohol...don't you fret, it was only an imagery I had... I don't indulge in either one. Now I await your story with wide-eye anticipation.

Well, Legend, are you going to be discouraged by these comments or are you going to write the story yourself?

WOW! Why am I just reading this after a month and two days of publishing it? I feel very honored and blessed Legend. It will be nice meeting you too, more so that I am a traveler, so meeting is very possible. This is a nice piece, even though I agree with previous comments that there are already dating sites available. If such a situation becomes popular here, the main reason for the creation of this site would be lost. But also coming to terms with ur reasoning, it will be a magnificient idea if two passionate writers go above mere acquaintances....

Great write Legend and I am so so so so grateful.. We'll definitely keep in touch

That is a good possibility. In fact, wikinut can organize some meets in areas like North America, India or some place where a good number of wikinuts can meet. The meet may not bring forth relationships, but friendship certainly. A great idea.
