Follow Your Dream

I'm just recollecting my thoughts on the journey I took to make my dream of having a blog become a reality.

Follow your Dream

My dear friends, it feels good to be back on Wikinut, after taking a much needed break. I want to thank you for your kindness and best wishes regarding my father.

Would you believe another speeding driver crashed into the car he was driving earlier this year? But the driver stopped this time and claimed responsibility. My father experienced more pain, but is moving around.

2013 was a year of high and lows, the lows outnumbering the highs, both in my personal and business life. Determination is a word I’m quite familiar with, and was serious about making the changes I wanted. I joined Wikinut in early October and that marked the beginning of a positive change in my life.

Things were improving, and obstacles that constantly blocked my path were slowly removed. If that didn't occur, I was willing to jump over them. Nothing or no-one would deter me. The brief time spent on Wikinut was a pleasant one, but in order for me to take my writing career further, a temporary break would be needed.

I started my blog in November and found it an exciting challenge. There were many things that I had to familiarise myself with to make it function the way I wanted. That was accomplished while making friends with other bloggers and readers on Google Plus. My blog is running smoothly, but am always looking for ways to improve as I go along.

The month of April saw me completing in the annual AtoZ April Challenge. Participants are to blog 26 days, with Sundays off for a well deserved rest. We wrote one post daily, using one letter of the alphabet for each day. It ended April 30th with the letter Z, and I am proud to say I am a survivor. It wasn’t easy, but that’s what a challenge is about, I guess.

I was also nominated for a Liebster Award on May 1st. I discovered that the award is given to bloggers by other bloggers. Yes, I’m pleased as punch, seeing my plans become reality. There is still much I want to do, and know it will not always be possible for all my goals to come true, but my happy cloud will not be broken by a few disappointments. Sometimes it is for the best; maybe it wasn’t meant to happen.

This is my first post since leaving, but won’t be my last. I have returned!

I enjoy reading, and writing poetry and prose, as well as articles. Creating fiction stories is what I like to do, but will write on almost any topic that interest me.
