For The Love of Trees

I love trees. Just the sight of them makes me happy. It feels sad when there are civilians who don't care about their welfare and the benefits these resources give to our environment and to us as human.

To A Tree

It’s easy

Just to sit by your side
Even without your permission
And listen to the whispers of your leaves
Without any bribery.

As you stand
Above me
And trap the heat
That trying to evade me
I could talk and talk
And you just wave to agree
For any word that I would say
And stay straightforward
As I lean on your warm wood.

With this cussing heart
How could you afford
To be the silent asylum
Of this rebellious heart
As I renounce the world
Of its filthy emotions.

It is just so liberating
When I could always
Come near you
And free myself
From this invasion
That I used to release
Only with a soft fist.

So
I Thank you
For shading
This being
And believing
In my own living.

Your purity
Really lasts
Even if
Aging breaks in.

Olyra,
This is a great tribute to the trees.

Sometime back I wrote a poem with the same title here at Wikinut : "To A Tree"

What a great poem..We take trees for granted so much, and they have a rare beauty in all seasons...Liked this very much, Olyra...

Lovely tribute and so well deserved. They are part and parcel of our lives that we tend to ignore - siva
