For a Better New Year, Future

An inclusive take and a shared journey can propel us to higher realms of coexistence. Every New Year implores us to strengthen our resolve to forge ahead leaving behind the hurts of the past. We have come thus far with some luck and nature playing its part more than we care to admit. Our Creator never gives up on His creations like a forgiving mother.

Love Humanity, Entire Creation

Everyone wants a better future not only for themselves but for all and those yet to come; okay, almost all! We achieve less mainly due to our desires and actions not being inclusive as we tend to leave out some, at least we get prejudiced in wishing and doing our best for everyone. Then the world becomes less than fair and is divisive. There is prejudice in our actions and that is returned with interest. The world remains status quo and we go round in circles. Lifetimes pass on with us stuck in a limbo. Our potential is stymied. We go forward in fits and starts and then the animosity among countries rears its ugly head relentlessly and we feel we cannot do much but put out the fires when it threatens to get out of control. Is there a way out? I feel it is only when we bite the bullet by reaching across with earnestness and resolve and put behind those that create the distrust. We should have a turn in consciousness towards embracing creation as one but shining our individual light – the oneness of creation and the uniqueness in each of us should guide us. Our individuality should blend seamlessly with the whole.

Every New Year brings Hope

We restate our resolve when a new year dawns on us but we never really shed the negativity of our past; the lessons are forgotten. The gaiety of the occasion is momentary, almost like a one day ceasefire, and then it is back to same old tricks, the beaten track. Is it because our leaders have too much free time and want to stay in the limelight with a misplaced agenda? We take the reality of the day as insurmountable and accept them without question. The next step for world peace is daunting merely because we feel it will involve loss of face but if the end result is peace, what is there to lose except shedding ego and false pride? Let us do some soul search to do what is necessary.

1. Build on that that we have in common and that is almost everything for the common citizens everywhere. Look at children – they can coexist without any issues as they do not carry any baggage of the past. Why not we do the same as old issues only serve to divide us further and should serve no other purpose than help us learn from the mistakes?
2. Take steps to make our lives independent as nature is able to lend a big hand in that direction. Fuel is transported across the globe with fossil fuels being the preserve of the few but with newer technology, renewable and clean energy can make most countries energy independent. Then the pollution from fossil fuels can also become history both in transporting them and also in using the end products.
3. Disarmament is crucial for peace and that requires sagacity and wisdom. An attitude of give and take can achieve what is considered now to be impossible. Let us admit false ego and greed are at play for the big powers not to give an inch though 99% will be happy to live without these monstrous arms that are an albatross around our necks. Why should they hang above our heads like a Damocles Sword?
4. Let all countries prove their worth demonstrating their beauty within, in the way they function and the society that they come up with. There is no need to poke their nose and meddle in the internal affairs of others. In doing so they become the enemy while enemies within are able to hide and unite.
5. Our Gods seem to coexist, then why not their children? Every belief is a product of the creative process or at least from creative minds, so we are all within the ambit of the whole process. Let us have the patience to ride out the present through mutual coexistence.
6. Let us think before we act – our actions should benefit others more than us; at least, our gain should not be at the cost of and by depriving others.

Onward, Forward Step by sure Step

Each can do but little, but if each does that little all will be done-what more we want than adding value during our time here? And that will give us bliss when we close our eyes only to reopen our true self and if that does not happen, so be it! Without give and take it is impossible to have a better future. It need not be that we cannot coexist at all. There are many ways we can start the ball rolling and find common ground and then all pieces of the jigsaw pieces should fall in place. Every New Year gives us time for stock taking, reflection, and contemplation. I have seen the vast majority believing in the goodness of others as they take the rest as a mirror image of themselves but the few just take advantage for their selfish interests. Whether one believes in karma or not, our actions will eventually recoil on us- it is only a matter of time. Creative process is tuned in such a way that no action can escape due justice. When other species are able to share common space, why not us when our enemies are us only? Nature is our ally and never differentiates – we breathe the same air and country borders are our creation. Let the New Year make us reflect on those that divide us and bridge the gap so that we share many a common platform for the benefit of not only us – time we played the our true role as co-creators.

Thank you dear Utah Jay, wish you too great going in 2015 and beyond. You are so inspirational with posts that soothe the soul. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you - is a guide for me when in doubt.

The common folks everywhere are shortchanged by a wily and greedy minority - the latter should be exposed for us to get what we all deserve and I will put coexistence right at the top. Let 2015 inspire us in every way - siva

Thank you Mark, finally it is up to us as nothing stands in our way except our own attitude. We are put at the pinnacle of creation and the excitement of finding the truth should unite than divide us. That beliefs should lead us at each other's throats shows the few defeated are dictating our agenda.

Wish you all the best in 2015 and thanks for your encouragement through sharing on Facebook - siva

"Our individuality should blend seamlessly with the whole. "

Yes, as soon as it starts creating patches of dissent on the whole, the whole suffers.

Yes dear Siva how the New Year is going to unfold is within us. We have it in us to make it better or worse for ourselves, our family, our community and for this world. It depends on our attitude and how we react to all the vicissitudes that are thrust upon us in the daily clatter of things. But whatever we do it is imperative that if we embrace humanity, the world will be a better place to live in!

Thank you dear Subra for your unfailing support and encouragement. Wish you lots of luck in the New Year as we all need it even for bare survival! Do unto other as we would have them done to us is a great guide but most hardly follow this dictum. Let us try to march ahead as one than pull others down that even big powers are wont to do. The common ground for humanity is a vast expanse while what differentiates us is a mirage, in our minds - siva

Siva, excellent article as always. As I read each sentence the thought came to mind that we are all in this together. I do believe that together we can accomplish whatever it is that we set out to do. Alone we are powerless. If we could all work toward common goals the world would benefit tremendously from our efforts. Siva, do you think it will ever be possible for all of us to work together? I just really don't know. Happy New Year!

Thanks Nancy for your thoughts and hope resonating with the new year. We have to remember always what unite us and that is almost everything for the vast majority - those that divide us are forced on us. Agreed Val, we should have an attitude - let the dead bury the dead - to come out of the vicious cycle of hate and revenge. Gandhi said an eye for eye will make the whole world blind.
