So lately I have been creating other items other then my beading.
I would like to share with you how this love of art came to be for me.

For The Love Of Art

Creating is my passion, making new designs and Nature is my teacher most of the time. I have always had a love for handmade items, to me it always shows the passion and the love that goes with making something yourself. I come from an era and location that stores were just does not existing. When I lived in the Amazon jungle in Brazil my grandmother and mother did everything by hand. These are my most fond memories of my life, from getting wood for our home made items, to collecting seed and drying them to make necklaces. Trading was another love from a very young age. I was always mesmerized when I saw a new item that someone else made and I wanted to know how to create that. I think it was this lesson in life that has created who I am today.
Now these days I find that this love is even stronger then before. It has made me appreciate all things handmade. My hope is to see this of art keep on growing for the future generations, not only that when you teach someone handmade items there is a bond that will last a life time! It creates memories, love and great friendships.
So lately I have been creating other items other then my beading.
I would like to share with you how this love of art came to be for me.
I remember on my 6 birthday my uncle gave me a pencil. It was the best present ever. The only problem I had no paper.
In school we use chalk and on the board and we carry with us a small piece of slate to do our work in. now you know how really old I am.
Well I knew my mom had some paper. This in those days was extremely precious like gold. She always had it on a very special place way from me.
Well this gave me a great idea….you guessed mom’s paper.
Before I even knew it I had that little pad of paper full of you named it flowers, trees, house, mountains, sea side villages etc.
Well when mom found out about her paper I was in big trouble.
Years later on a very hot summer’s day, mom asked me if I could help her iron the sheets for her. It was hot and she was so tired.
Of course I was so excited but that didn’t last long I started to day dream and sure enough the sheet was getting darker on the parts that I was not moving it.
Well another great idea came to me.
If I added more coals to the cast iron it would be hotter then I could draw some flowers on it and make it so pretty for mom.
Well you guessed it I did it. I was extremely proud of my art.
My mom on the other hand was ready to ring my neck out. I had destroyed her white sheets. If it was not for my precious grandmother saving me she was going to kill me.
So you must be saying where I am going with all of this.
Well this week I painted some of those flowers from so long along.
I also even did some wood burning on wood spoons and a cane for a friend.
I guess when you have a love for the arts we artist will use every thing and anything available to us.
Now I can laugh at all of the trouble I cause to my poor mother in those days.
So the moral of this is if you have a child and they show interest in the arts….let them paint everything in site because they are creating master pieces in their minds eyes.

I loved those stories about your early attempts to create your art with whatever was at hand, even if they did not delight your mother.

It saddens me how little value some people in modern society put on real art. I have liked this on Facebook, and look forward to seeing some of your art. You can add pictures here, one per section.

I hope our passions do not lie hidden due to lack of opportunities. You have shared this with lighthearted humor, but I can understand the headwinds you had faced, inspiring - siva

Thank you so much Sivaramakrishnan A that is one thing that I have always done. I look at life with humor and delight. Life is beautiful it's like a blank canvas ready to be painted every day and when we smile to colors look brighter.

No, I didn't, but I remember when I was a kid I drew a mustache on a special painting of a person my mother had. She was so nice.

Yes that is true Saigon When i use to teach it it was always adults until one day a lady brought in class her child with special needs. I found this child extremely creative and with great color choices as well. We all have a gift to create. Thank you Sir.
