Poem I wrote to honour our veterens. In Canada we celebrate Rememberance Day, and I wrote this for that day in 2008, but it tells the reader to honour them every day.

For those who went before us - Rememberance Day

Become a random act of kindness,
Be thankful that you can
For those who went before us,
Are the ones who gave a damn,

With a coffee, hand or smile,
Pay if forward if you choose,
For those who went before us
Had everything to lose.

Share a moment with a Vet,
With their plates all Poppy red,
For the ones who went before us
Not enough is ever said.

For the ones who went before us,
Gave their life without a pause
For Freedom in our country
Fighting someone elses cause.

Keep vigil in your heart,
Each day of every year
For the one who went before us,
And the ones who still are here.
