What have I done to deserve this kind of pain? So glad this poem is only fiction!

Forgive me...

Welcome, nightly ghosts.
Please, release this poor
human being
from the heavy chains
you put on her.

Yes,ghosts, I know
I did you harm
And I failed to honor
your teachings and
But, can you really
put any blame on me?
I am nothing but
a mere mortal,
a poor broken soul
wandering without direction.
I only did what I thought
was the best for me,
without stopping to think
about the consequences.
My thoughtless actions
managed to bother you,
disturbing your eternal sleep.
Again, I beg you pardon,
as my eyes are getting wet
with the most bitter tears.
Please, release your victim
from this never-ending pain.
From the day I hurt you,
my nights become
a true hell,
not allowing to me
to sleep any more.
How much do I have
to live in this hell
to get your forgiveness?
Tell.. me..
Are you listening to me?
