An attempt to list the fundamentals of prosperity in life.

Foundation of Prosperity

Its refreshing and inspiring to be able to read the thought process of James Allen, a legend, nearly a 100 years old now. His major work has been around thought mastery and it would be impossible for a stalwart like him to not share how prosperity hinges on internal belief systems.
In his book Pillars of Prosperity he says “Prosperity rests upon a moral foundation. It is popularly supposed to rest upon an immoral foundation - that is, upon trickery, sharp practice, deception and greed. One commonly hears even an otherwise intelligent man declare that “No man can be successful in business unless he is dishonest,” thus regarding business prosperity – a good thing – as the effect of dishonesty – a bad thing. Such a statement is superficial and thoughtless, and reveals a total lack of knowledge of moral causation, as well as a very limited grasp of the facts of life. It is as though one should sow henbane and reap spinach, or erect a brick house on a quagmire - things impossible in the natural order of causation, and therefore not to be attempted.”

The Sound Foundation

Its such a reassurance today to be able to read and understand that the much against the current world hullabaloo against corruption, lobby politics, corporate couches and favoritism, the fundamentals of a consistently prosperous life will remain the same. That short sighted beliefs will lead to short sighted gains and heavy losses only. There is no other way than this!!!
He goes on to share the principles on which prosperity hinges …
“Business and all human enterprises are not exempt from the eternal order, but can only stand securely by the observance of fixed laws. Prosperity, to be stable and enduring, must rest on a solid foundation of moral principle, and be supported by the adamantine pillars of sterling character and moral worth. In the attempt to run a business in defiance of moral principles, disaster, of one kind or another, is inevitable. The permanently prosperous men in any community are not its tricksters and deceivers, but its reliable and upright men. “
He further says “The roof of prosperity, then, is supported by the following eight pillars which are cemented in a foundation of moral consistency:-
1. Energy
2. Economy
3. Integrity
4. System
5. Sympathy
6. Sincerity
7. Impartiality
8. Self-reliance”
It’s not only reassuring and relieving but also inspiring to know that the childhood lessons of “Goodness” do not lose their way in the quagmire of youth or the so called pragmatism. The form might change the intensity may become higher, but the above principles ensure consistency in well being, both mental as well as physical and also assert that there is no other way than this. The path of quick gains also brings misery and dejection once the initial euphoria vain.
The Indian philosophy also talks about two types of successes. “Preya” is the short duration, quick effort realization and “Shreya” is the long lasting happiness and prosperity. Its advised that “Preya” be avoided and “Shreya” be diligently pursued so that a consistent growth is experienced. “Preya” is tempting and arousing while “Shreya” requires patience and virtue. It is when an individual strives hard, scratches and scrapes whatever is left in him of perseverance and diligence that he witnesses that happiness is a state of mind and it is in flowing with the current that one experiences harmony and peace. Trying to control and dominate the process of growth will only choke it further. When the foundations are correct, it is then that the person realizes boundless enthusiasm and fearlessness. When the compass of morale is right, it is then that the individual can see strength in every sinew and muscle. It is then that the meaning of continual growth becomes crystal clear. A personality of such tall character hardly remains cowed down by social norms and it is individuals like these that go on to warp reality in their favor. Nature also trusts such individuals and shares with them higher powers, higher knowledge and perceptions beyond five senses. The average mind gets lost in the media highlights of the day, trying to catch the flavor of the month or other frailties. Consistency and excellence roll out their arms to people who are sincere and believe in carrying sympathy towards Life itself. So breath in the fundamentals of virtuosity in every nerve of the body and every thought of the mind and realize a life that you yourself will be satisfied with.
