For those who know....the pain, the hurt, the feeling of loss

From the Cradle to the Battlefield

So little time to train
Turned around in the mist of the battlefield
Lost and afraid
Looked around for guidance
Were you there
I didn't see you there

Gun smoke all around me
Nobody knew my name
Those that sent me here
Lay asleep in their warm beds
Did they know what was coming for me
Shaking, running for cover

Scared, looking all around me
Where do I run from here
Still bodies everywhere
Moaning sounds in the air
I'm surrounded by pain
Some dying before my eyes

Tearing eyes running like waterfalls
I want to go home
Can't see home anymore
Those that dropped me here
Took me from the cradle to the battlefield

Thank you, Writestuff. I just had to pen this, to put into words what so many could not.
