Genuine feedback will help us to see our own flaws as well as strong points and it can, but help us to improve our writing.

Genuine feedback helps

Whenever I´ve shared an article or a story with someone, I´ve always liked sincere feedback or criticism and in the same way that I won´t accept anyone to tell me it´s very bad without no reasoning at all, I won´t search for flattery either. Whether they tell me it´s bad or very good, I´m always likely to ask them why they think it´s bad or good. Their reasoning may help me to see my strong points as well as my flaws.
I always ask them to focus on the topic and the style besides misspelling or punctuation, because misspelling or punctuation can be corrected easily, but not an article or a story that has been written clumsily. An editor, if we´re to submit somewhere, will most probably miss out a wrong preposition, but they won´t definitely miss out a bad story or article. That is why feedback is so important when we share our writings to be read.
Ever since I started to write on-line, I´ve received a lot of good comments that helped me to improve my writing or to see my strong points. These were genuine comments and I corresponded in the same way; reading their articles and letting them know what I thought. However, I´ve seen that many on-line writers won´t write a real comment after having read an article, if they have. It tells easily that they´re searching for comments for their posts. Not without mentioning these writers that use the comment section to publicise their own website. It really looks like spam.
No one is obliged to read everybody´s articles, but if for some reason, we find one interesting to read, we´ll read it till the end and we´ll write a brief comment, telling the writer what we think of it, if only a couple of lines.
Genuine feedback and good criticism can always be desirable and it´s what will help us to improve our writing.

I feel the same way you do. Genuine feedback is not only helpful, but it also shows that someone took an interest in a piece that took time and effort to write. Good luck to you!

I wrote this because of a comment from someone who said "wonderful" to follow with his or her link and ways of payment! This is very annoying, isn´t it? Surely, there´re other ways (and more honest, indeed!) to promote a website.

No one can say for sure that a person leaves a comment just to get their work read vickylasss, and sometimes it is better to say nothing than write something that could hurt or offend another , even if they say they don't mind . Whenever people write on such pages as these , we are all prone to differing opinions or preferences , and unless we have something constructive and edifying to comment then maybe it is better if we refrain from saying anything . We are also given the option to delete something if we so choose , as I do when I receive those annoying promotion 'comments'. BTW you have written writing with two t's ...just being observant :-)
Bless you

Well, Stella, I don´t think that a well meant comment, even if one doesn´t agree with the author, can´t offend anyone. On the contrary, mere flattery can also be offensive if one takes writing seriously.
