Eating, buying or preparing gluten free food is not easy to do and with more people having to eat gluten free we should all educate ourselves.

Gluten Free Eating

The first time I knew anything about gluten free food was the time my daughter found out that she had to start eating gluten free. She had to go through a few allergy reactions before she learned how to protect herself.
She did a considerable amount of research online to find out which restaurants in our area had gluten free menu's. She checked out the reviews of all the restaurants who claimed they had gluten free menu's. Even restaurants we went to eat at and would ask for a gluten free menu, we would watch what happened next. If the hostess had to search for the menu we would walk out. If we were seated at a table and would ask questions about the gluten free food preparation and their knowledge of gluten free food. We have been very careful when it comes to eating out.
Buying food at the store has been easier since there are more gluten free items to choose from. You still have to read the labels. Many times even if the item says it is gluten free find out how it is manufactured. If it has been manufactured on a line with gluten items the gluten free food is now contaminated.
Having a gluten reaction is not any fun for the person having the reaction, or for the person having to watch them go through it. If you work in the food industry, or know of someone who has to eat gluten free, educate yourself on the subject and educate others.

We should all try to eat healthier, the trouble is it can be tough to move over to a new diet.

Great page. Yes many people do have that problem and moderation is my motto. I know when I need to cut it out. I can tolerate small doses only.
