This is a short account of a remarkable event that happened to me in 1993. I will swear in a court of law that it is true!

God's Favor

In 1993, my maternal grandmother was in the hospital. She was in a coma. I decided to visit her one evening. When I arrived, my immediate family and my aunt and uncle surrounded her bedside. I asked my mother if I should say something to grandmother. Mother said yes. I approached grandmother, leaned forward, and kissed her forehead. To everyone's amazement, she opened her eyes, threw her arms around me and said "My baby". Then she fell back to the bed, eyes closed, and back into the coma. She passed away the following morning. This brought back many memories of her. Until I was old enough to have a girlfriend, she was the only person in our family who told me she loved me. She liked to surprise me with hugs and kisses. I vividly recall a day she tricked me. I was about eight years old. My mother, myself and grandmother were going to town to get groceries. My mother sat in the driver's seat. As we got closer to the car, grandmother said to me, "You had better sit in the middle of the front seat. I don't want you falling out of the car. (I loved to ride up front.) I got into the car. She got in, closed the door and threw her arms around me and said,"I got you now!." She proceeded to hug me and slobber me with kisses. At the time, I was embarrassed. Now I look back and find this is my fondest memory of her. The incident in the hospital seemed like a replay of that day. I feel that God had given us a gift of the bond of love that nothing will ever sever.
