Only the king and his soldiers went near the deer. The deer felt the hunters have come. The king took his bow and arrow to shoot at the deer. The deer himself came in front of the king and said, O king! Stop shooting at me. I have something to ask you'.

The violence to animals and birds is prohibited in his kingdom

The queen of Delhi saw a Golden deer in her dream. She felt that the deer advised her something. In the morning the queen asked the king to search for the golden deer. The king summoned his ministers and enquire about the golden deer. The ministers said that it is very difficult to search such deer.

The king announced that whoever gives a clue about the golden deer they would be given golden coins. The information reached Mahadhanka also. He intended to inform the king about the golden deer. He forgot the promise he gave to the deer. He went to the king and said that he would show him where the golden deer is.

The king was happy. He went along with his soldiers to the forest. Mahadanaka should the king the place where the deer were sitting. But he remained where he was. Only the king and his soldiers went near the deer. The deer felt the hunters have come. The king took his bow and arrow to shoot at the deer.

The deer himself came in front of the king and said, O king! Stop shooting at me. I have something to ask you'.
The king was surprised. He had seen a talking deer for the first time.
`O deer! I don't kill you. Tell me what you want to tell' the king said.
`King! Who informed you about me? Tell me first'.
The king said that Mahadanaka informed him.
`Is he a human? He had forgotten his promise. I would have saved a wooden piece instead of him' the deer said.
`O! king' the deer continued: `Once I saved him from danger. He had agreed that he would not tell anybody about me. But he is ungrateful'.
The king got angry. He told the deer that he would sentence him to death.
Mahadanaka heard their dialogue and came near the king.
`O king let him not die but for me leave him, the deer said.
The king excused Mahadanaka and asked him to get out of the place. Then the king brought the deer to the place.
`My deer! You may ask me anything. I would give you' the king said.
`O king! From today don't harm any bird or animal in this kingdom. If anybody does so you warn them' the deer said.
The king announced that the violence to animals and birds is prohibited in his kingdom and if anybody kill birds or animals they would be severely punished.
The deer advised the queen and then went to his forest.
