Sharing a 'formula' that has been working for me for many years.

Doesn't really matter what is going on or how I'm feeling or what is going on in the World micro or macro, when I want to feel good I start being grateful. I might write it down, but more than likely I'll just say out loud or in my head, 'Thank You God for this little house, these transportation vehicles. Thank you for my fuzzy familars. I am so grateful for the food I have and that there is always enough to share. Thank you for my healthy beautiful body and sharp, curious mind. Thank you for the sunshine today and moonshine yet to come. These flowers make me so much happier that I grew them myself!

Equals Attitude

Frankly, after a few minutes of being grateful, my attitude toward life is elevated and when my attitude is elevated it makes me face the world with a brighter spark of hope in my heart and soul. Perhaps, because of the gratitude, compassion is greater for those who may not have as much to be grateful for and propensity for sharing increases. Sharing, whether material or informational or through experience always leaves everyone better, increased, feeling cared for and loved. At attitude is the way one perceives life and its experiences and moves forward. I always liked Forrest Gump's attitude.

Equals Altitude

Just how 'high' does one person want to be on life? As high as you want. Actually, I try for a nice level elevation - that way, when life throws me something that knocks me to my knees, I'm not all that far from the ground. Sure, as with any human, I'll wallow around in the muck for a while... but starting a gratitude list always lifts me up, always. If we can remember this little formula, we can walk around feeling light as a feather, no matter the weather. When approaching the day with gratitude in my heart, shines a good attitude from my face and by golly it also is catchy! Up Up and Away!
