Harbor Sunrise- Spring by the Sea

Maine's rugged edges are softened by spring's misty weather and the April mood of the ocean. Here is my Maine in all its pastel wonder...

Morning is a Lament

At the crossing, a bridge
Where the road bends to climb slowly uphill.
In the distance,
From jagged treetops, a bird sings...

Content in gray, the day begins,
With a serenade and misty sky.

The Ocean Sings the Blues

April morning in the harbor...
The supple hues of sky and ocean
Against the gloom-
Softly come shades of gentle blue
That shine mellow upon still waters.

Spring Harbor Sunrise

Delicate is the hour of sunrise,
Measured by the mood of the sea,
Fragile with spring and mystery-
A silent tide and the unripened earth.

Delicia
Although your pictures are quite captivating I did not need them, as your words painted that morning scene for me. I could almost feel that spring morning’s air.
Charming quite charming

I have to agree with johnnydod dear Delicia . Your words say it all , but pictures are a treat for us as Canada is so different from England . God bless you dear friend .

Morning awake with a picture of love,
I look at the Sunrise way up Above.
I see a gap in the Shades of Grey,
Gently clearing the Ocean spray.

For from it comes the Golden Light,
Showing the adulation from greatest height.
Showing the Harbour that gives the clue,
Of the ships that pass in shades of blue.

For in the image of undying love,
He sprays the roses from up Above.
Showing the love that is meant to be,
As he wishes Good Morning to his family.

a line I remember from Arnold's Dover Beach- "The sea is calm to-night.
The tide is full, the moon lies fair
Upon the straits; on the French coast the light
Gleams and is gone; the cliffs of England stand;
Glimmering and vast, out in the tranquil bay.
Come to the window, sweet is the night-air!.."a poem my father often read out loud...its beauty unparalleled- ever heard in my mind in fathers voice......Wow .. many thanks Fairy S....:0)
