Helping Each Other Learn

We live in an era where it's never been easier to become life long learners. As writers we're all experts in something about our daily life, something that may seem familiar, but to others is a source of interest. Find something interesting about your life and share it with us.

What Appeals to Us As Readers?

Thankfully we are all different when considering what appeals to us as readers. I wonder how many people are like me when choosing their online reading material? If I have a choice I choose to read articles that tell me about people or teach me something new. I love learning new things about the way other people live and so my reading drifts in that direction.
The articles that appeal to me less are those concerning world news and information that writers have gathered from a variety of secondary sources. I'd rather gather my news from TV and the newspapers, unless the article gives me a personal slant on the writer's life and how it's connected to the news item.

What Do You Know About?

Online writers are lucky in that we can choose our writing topics. We're all experts in something, whether it's life in the country we live in, something connected with our jobs, or even our hobbies and interests.
I love reading articles that tell me how to make, create or participate in something that is not familiar to me. Someone left a comment on one of my recent articles, mentioning e-book writing. That is something I'd really love to learn more about. What about your family traditions, or those of your country? They may seem familiar to you but I'm one who would love to read about them.

Browse Through the Available Categories

When I sit here looking for writing inspiration I often go in search of 'How to' articles. If you look at the range of subcategories available here on Wikinut you'll find so many to choose from you could find yourself flooded with ideas of things to write about.
Another of my favourite categories is travel. There are so many countries I've never been to and am never likely to travel to that I enjoy reading about. You know your local town or country as well as anybody does. What are the local landmarks, the must see places, the food and customs? Please tell us about it in the travel category.

Add Your Personal Touch to Your Information

An article about a town I've never heard of can be interesting, but if the writer adds a personal touch to it, this brings it alive for me. I like to imagine real people doing real things. I want to see the place through your eyes.
When writing about the crafts you enjoy, the sports you've excelled in or a favourite meal, tell me a personal story to go with it.
By adding your own slant to the articles you write you give the reader so much more enjoyment. Well, that's the way it is for me anyway. I'm a people person and that's what I like to read about.
