A well kept secret about the fears that surround illusions

He was right, the man she had seen in her fantasies, in the cold nights and days. She would think of him in the middle of a conversation and smile. His name would be Phillip. Phillip would be the guy to to everything for her. He would cry if she hurt him, smile at her jokes, spend hours trying to figure out what she needed. His arms would carry her around whenever she wished, his character would complement her and for once, she would have a man at the tips of her fingers. With the snap of her fingers, she would get him on his knees looking up at her imploringly. She felt his presence, he was closer to her heart and soul than any real being. His presence gave her the courage to leave her boyfriend who payed her very little attention as his career had picked up. It kept her warm for the months she was out of school for the holidays. Phillip kept her strong enough to be alone. She adored this illusion. Back in school, he was her solace when she moved into a house and got robbed of her phone on her birthday. Phillip would always come through for her.
A week later, she was okay with the fact that she would not have her phone back and was busy strolling through the streets on her way home. She crossed another street then she saw him, his eyes full of wonder and they passed each other. Absent minded, she made her way through the hundreds of people at the bus stop and stopped at the end to await an empty bus. "Hey," came a voice from behind and she turned and saw those wondrous eyes again. She shakily replied as she looked around to see if it was at all real. He introduced himself as Patrick and explained that he had followed her from the first street and she shuddered at the thought of having been stalked. She found herself giving him her number after he said that he was from the University of Nar where she'd imagined and dreamed that Phillip would be a student. She boarded the bus with many questions in her mind. Something didn't feel right about that meeting, yet something felt right.
