Houses

Whilst travelling on the train, the countryside can look really beautiful. I often ask, why is it when travelling through towns the onslaught of grubby residencies spoil the scenery...?

Houses

The grubby houses, they look a mess. Hard to believe it's someones nest.
Not wanting to appear critical and mean, but travelling by train, the dirt is seen.
Old yellow brick smeared with sandstone an inch thick.
Once fashionable pebble dash looking a right hash.
Flaky dirt grimed paint that once looked quite quaint.
Windows replaced with board, courtesy of a dodgy slum lord.
And the graffiti which is not at all pretty, often scribed in the form of a ditty.
Scrawled by a disingenuous lot, who someone needs to tell them, "Banksy, they're not."
And the ultimate sight, that'll give you a fright.
Is the gardens fence belonging to these residence.

Sometimes I feel it is a reflection of what goes inside us - a mirror to our thinking! siva
