Starting a career in content writing is a lucrative option today. But very few of the aspirants move on to become a successful writer in future. How can you use your talent to become successful in this industry? Please have a deep insight into the matter before you put any opinion of your own...

Use your talent and genius to move on to the next level:

The professional world has become wider than ever before with the growing popularity of cyber jobs available today. As a result, a number of new avenues have opened up in front of the job seekers. Content writing has also come out as a bright prospect or job option as it is available in both part-time and full-time basis. It is a freelance online job option which you can execute from anywhere in the world with the help of a computer or laptop and an internet connection.

A rapidly growing number of people in the world are taking up the option of web-content writing as their profession. To start a career as a web-content writer, you don’t really need too much of genius in you. The only deciding factor here is whether you are capable of producing smart, crispy and unique contents on different given topics. Sometimes you may have to work in such niches which are completely unknown to you. Still you have to come up with well-researched and original contents for your clients within a stipulated deadline. Here you generally get offers of writing content for different websites, blog posts, product reviews etc. These job offers are easily available if you just search for the content writing job opportunities in the internet.

Now as you start working as a professional content writer you start gaining experience and gradually grow in confidence. As it is a very competitive field and any one in the world can participate, you need to put in some extra effort to move forward. You need some professional guidance and of course a depth of creativity to go to the next level. You can gradually work as a ghostwriter where you have to write under the identity of other individuals. Clients often require research papers on different subjects. This is the time when you have to be more definite in selecting your field of expertise.

After you gain enough experience in professional writing, you can join different magazines to publish some short columns. You can even move on to take interviews of some reputed authors. It increases your reputation quickly. Gradually you can even think of producing eBooks of your own. But let me be very clear; it demands a top class or genius in writing from you. Besides you have to capture a huge reader-base before you publish your work. If you are too early to publish your creation, you have to literally beg everyone for a mere look at your work. This will, in no way, increase your reputation. Of course, you need some advertisements, but never beg anyone for an appreciation.

Decide smaller goals and reach them. Create a blog of your own, display some of your productions and attract traffic through different social networks in the internet. Build a level of reputation through shorter publications in magazines and when you have a larger reader-base, move on to become a published author. You can rest assured your talent will be fruitful to you.

Everything that you have said here is true, but talent alone is not enough to succeed as a writer. To succeed as a writer, and it doesn't matter whether you are writing content for online sites or articles for the print media, to succeed one has to be ready to put i long hours and a lot of hard work. To paraphrase Thomas Alva Edison's famous quote, "Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration," writing is one percent talent and ninety-nine percent perspiration. Before anyone decides to become a professional writer, before anyone decides to make writing their career, they need to ask themselves, "Am I willing to put in the work necessary to succeed as a writer?" If they cannot honestly answer that question with a resounding "YES," they should look for a different career.
Someone other famous writer, the names slips my mind at the moment, once said that if everyone that wanted to be a writer could write, there would be no readers. What he or she was saying is that everyone would like to be a writer, everyone would like to see their name in print, but not everyone has the talent and moral fortitude necessary to become writers.

Here's wishing you a safe and Happy New Years.

This is a great read! You inspire me. I have lost touch with writing because of my health and my boyfriends cancer. The last we heard was he is in remission. I praise God for that. He or she is so big, can you imagine how big his hat might be?. LOL
