Is it possible for a writer to stretch themselves too thin?

How much is too much?

It is common knowledge that there is not just one (or even just two) shared revenue article publishing websites on the Internet. They all have different platforms, communities, methods, pay rates, pay methods and guidelines. My question for you is: how much is considered too much? Is there such a thing as writing for too many of this websites? Is there such a thing as stretching yourself too thing on these websites. On one side of the argument: if you have the ability to publish the same article on multiple platforms and earn from it – why shouldn’t you? On the other side of the argument: in the time that it takes you to publish the article on all those different mediums – how many other articles could you have written?

There are so many different ways to look at this debate and so many different opinions. Some people think it is unprofessional and immoral to publish your article on more than one of these sites and earn from it. Some people think that you benefit more and earn more by writing different articles for each and every site you work on. Other people think: if the site is OK with it why shouldn’t you be?

The question of the day is: is it possible to be doing, writing and publishing in too many places or should you take advantage of all the resources and opportunities you have?
