Humor and Nonsence Poetry

I don't consider myself as much of a poet but now and then when I am really stressed out I dabble in nonsense poetry to lighten up my mood.

Fungus Among Us

Fungus Among Us (Revenge Poem)

We had an exercise in the 7th grade where we had to make slogans for oral health week. I thought mine was rather brilliant but apparently the teacher didn't. I came up with the catchy slogan "Fungus Among Us"

Well since my elementary school attempt at a slogan was not good enough I created a poem today and now I have my revenge. It is not the greatest poem in the world but I like it.

Fungus Among Us

There is a fungus among us I do say
It's affecting the whole U.S.A
Our teeth are beginning to decay
Our mouths get worse from delay
Where to find the money we must pay
looking for solutions every day
Our smiles are a no no
Til the dentist we a go go
Gums are receding I must say
Dental work must commence today!
The money's not forthcoming
No use in sighs and humming
Pain in our mouth we must obey
So all we can do is hope and pray!
Our smiles are a no no
Til the dentist we a go go
Hoping we have a good co-pay
To release us from this misery

Me and My Cat

Everyone who knows me know how much I love cats. At one time I was called the cat lady because I had so many of them.

Poem: Me and My Cat

Me and my cat

Spending time together

Traveling through life
In any kind of weather

Forming our memories

To last forever

Just me and my cat

Now you can't beat that

The Naughty Poem

The Naughty Poem

I write humorous poems when I am feeling bad. It is a way for me to lighten up.

I was so distraught of my sister's condition, bone cancer, throat cancer and dying, that I wrote this limerick just to add some levity to my life. She died in 1997.

The Naughty Poem

My heart's a churnin'
Hormones emergin'
My fire's burnin'
My body's yearnin'
Manhood emergin'
logic now surgin'
Ignore his urgin'
Cause I'm a virgin

Like a Virgin I suppose with the devil in guise, pussy on display and dentures showing fresh breath energy that wilts the flower.
Well I ain't no Venus Fly Trap so will keep the flies away from today and bring the scent of my reality which is flowery and beautiful and with love.

You have a good memory to remember that slogan from way back then, Carol, and you must be more organised than me at keeping copies of what you wrote ages ago too.

I lost most of my writing by using a diary program that no longer works now on the later versions of Microsoft windows.

I like the humour in your poems too.
