Hunger

Comforting ourselves with material things has mortally injured Mother Earth and will ultimately lead to our suicide if we do not learn to find the source of love within.

Bottomless Pit

There is a bottomless pit inside us
A hungry black hole
We have tried to appease
We have fed it the body of the earth
The water of her rivers
The gold and diamonds of her mountains
The oil of her plains
And still it is hungry

Suicidal

We are a cancer in our Mothers body
And just as dumb
We are the child that murders its mother
And then turns the gun
On itself
Do we hate ourselves that much?

Loving the Darkness

We must learn to love the blackness of the hole inside
The emptiness, the hunger for more
As someone on a diet must learn to love the hunger
Knowing the transformation it will bring
We must find the diamond in the pit
We must draw love
Out of the mouth
Of our never ending desire

Shining Star

For love is what we really want
All other solutions are temporary
In the blackness of our need
Let love coagulate, condense, tense
To become a guiding star

As a human and as a therapist, I am struck with the essential truth re. living with the hole of darkness. I cannot be 'filled up' but we must all learn to strengthen our inner walls around it so it does not consume us.
Nicely done!

Thank you David for reading and commenting. My experience has been that the emptiness must be entered and accepted and when that happens it doesn't feel empty anymore, but filled with being.

Basic truth highlighting our pernicious lifestyle - profound words, C D Moore. Time we changed course and stopped pursuing paths that are sure to lead to dead ends. Love is the ultimate, unbridled love to conquer all evil. Let is learn from our Mother - Planet Earth; how she reinvents herself to keep us all alive - siva

The "bottomless pit" in all of us explains the current world situation we are in now. It explains the harvest of good men and women, hero soldiers in all aspects of services, crusading politicians and world leaders, obedient little kids the world over. It likewise displays before our very eyes the foolishness of armed conflict in some corners of the earth, the useless carnage of human power- kids and adults alike in Syria and the currently raging battle between the MNLF vs the government forces in Zamboanga, Mindanao, Philippines. Thanks for coming out with this piece.
