A few lines, which might not sound rhythmical but, the relationship in this poem does not need any rhyme and rhythm at all ! Was written in England before moving to Denmark.

To my Mother ( How much I miss her ), was written in England before moving to Denmark !

Whenever I would grab the phone and call you,
I'd think I would tell it all,
My few sorrows, my joys few,
And the past that I'd recall.

But, when we start to talk,
And gossip about other things,
Sometimes surprises, sometimes shock,
And the time passes by, on its wings.

Now is the time that I can't forget
To tell you what I always wanted to say,
I never had any regret,
While your company was not an astray.

Hold on, for I have to clean my tears,
I am recalling the past, when we were together,
Let me say now," I LOVE YOU" without fears,
And I shall always love you, mom, forever !

Wow. Always, a tender heart gives rise to a beautiful expression such as the debut poem you just did. Thanks, my friend!

Asghar, this was just a lovely poem for your mom. As a mother, I can so relate. My daughter lives 2000 miles away (she also works) and my son lives here but works so many hours at his job, we rarely have time to talk on the phone. When we do, we start talking just as you have mentioned and at times, some things are just not said. Mothers know how you feel but, it sure does help to hear those words, I love you. You are a good son, Asghar. Thank you for sharing.:)

Awww . Thank you so much, Denise. I always try to be a good son, either when I am with my parents or away. It's been 4 years since I saw them and I am missing them every day, every hour, every minute, every second. I know how it feels the way you feel. It is so hard when your beloved ones are far away. I pray you get to see them often and be always happy. God Bless !!!

Mother's contribution to children is well understood by us all, yet, we do not obey (Not all) our mother's calling.

Nice poem. Thanks.
