I Am Still Me

There is no else on the planet exactly like anyone else, and that's a GOOD thing.

Change is a symptom of being alive

My experiences
Are not me
My family
Is not me
My beliefs/dis-beliefs
Are not me

Whatever I go through
I am still me
However my family grows
I am still me
Even if/when I "fall off"
I am still me

I am still me
When I change
I am still me
Whatever I see

I am still me
No matter what I know
I am still me
Even when I don't grow
I am still me
Completely, totally, faithfully

Being me is all I can truly be
So no matter what happens
I am still me.

Mom wanted me to be like her
But that wouldn't be me
Dad wanted me to not be her
But that wouldn't be me

Friends wanted me to follow them
But that's not me
Enemies wanted me to change for them
But that certainly is not me

Whatever I go through
I have GOT to be me
Whatever my family "knows"
I have GOT to be me
Even should I fall behind
I am right where I need to be

In my own skin
Loving and accepting me.

Amen...we are fearfully and wonderfully made...to be different. That's why our fingerprints are unlike anyone elses.
