I Curse You, Block!

A sweet little poem about a not so sweet theme; the infamous writer´s block.

A big kind of block

Little pencil,
gentle instrument
that keeps me in contact
with my inner thoughts,
can´t help me this time.
I am like a young warrior,
standing alone in front
of a blank page,
little critter that keeps
laughing at me.
Distorted fragments
of random thoughts
keep passing me by,
waiting for me
to grab them.
On a dark corner
of a never ending forest,
this writer's block
keeps an eye on me,
laughing at my puerile attempts
of beat it up.
Tangled words
are throwing an special
show just for me,
reminding me
that behind my hardened exterior,
I am nothing but a little creature,
totally helpless and weak
against the enormous power
of words.
Where are my clear ideas gone?
On a very calm day,
even the most mundane things
Can distract you from reaching
your writing goal.
Maybe a good way
to destroy that writer's block
would be wearing an armor made
of focusing threads...
