A poem about watching a star and finding out that it was a comet, A rare and once in a lifetime happening.

I Saw a Star

Looking up
I saw a star,
So many miles
And oh so far,
It sparkled brightly
In the night,
All alone
And oh so bright.

As I watched
It moved along,
Then I wondered
What was wrong,
Was I watching
Something more,
Got me going
That`s for sure.

A Comet

Comets move along
in space,
Then it vanished
Not a trace,
So I wondered
What to do,
No ideas
Not a clue.

Following night
I had a scope,
Wanting not
To be a dope,
Took the time
And watched again,
Believe it not
Was not in vain.

Oh the Headlines

It was moving
In the sky,
And my thoughts
Just wondered why,
Needed help
To solve this sight,
Taking details
In the night.

In the morning
Read the news,
Where a writer
Gave his views,
`Yes a comet
Passing by`,
We could see it
In the sky.

It would orbit
Just the twice,
Had a tail
Made of ice,
Then it would
Just move along,
Into space
Where it belongs.
