If only rabbits could celebrate me as their hero

No matter how busy one gets, one must always remember to help save the animals. Save them from all the cruel, cruel human beings who want to kill them for anything other than survival. Well actually I'm probably oversensitive about the subject and animals can and may indeed be hunted or eaten for extra meat additions to diets, but I just don't like animals dying.

Exercise or be fat and unsightly

I'm extremely busy these days with Timebotics, as it seems that project is finally taking off. So it's difficult for me to have the time to exercise. But I still want to.

That is why this morning when I'm awake at 5:30am, I decide to get up and go take a 45 minute walk.

It's extremely cold as Majesty and I make our way into nature. Still, cold as it may be, there's something magical and charming about a brisk walk in the morning air.

Murderer!!!!! Of cute animals.

The other day I was walking close by where I am now, and I saw a black man bending down doing something at the foot of a barbwire fence. I didn't recognize him but thought it might be somebody from next door, fixing the fence.

Today however I decide to go have a look if I can see what he was doing there. There where I believe he was abouts, I find a rabbit trap attached to the fence. Many black people like to set traps for rabbits and meerkats for a snack, by making a noose in a thin cable and tying it to the barbwire fence. The noose is very loose so there's a big loop that a rabbit or any other animal might run through, and once they go through, the noose tightens around them, and the more they struggle the tighter it gets until they are strangled to death. Sometimes the thin cable also cuts into them, maiming them, and they have to suffer to death.

This horrible, cruel way of killing innocent animals has always peeved me, and I've always been afraid that Majesty might get caught in one. Very long ago I tested if one of these traps would catch a dog, and it did, for once the dog realizes something is strangling it, it panics and struggles even more to get free, but more struggling of course only entraps them tighter.

Evil spreads worldwide

So, instinctively I untie this trap. It's difficult with my cold fingers on this extremely cold morning, but it's not long before I remove the horrid thing from the fence.

We continue our walk along the fence. What in blazes??? There's another one of these traps! I remove that one too.

We walk on and on and on, and all the time, we just keep spotting more of these traps. Someone seems to have been busy here, using our property for their hunting grounds, and our fence for their killing of beautiful creatures.

By the end of the walk, I have probably removed eight that I could see, and I'm sure there are more.

I shall be hated for saving the animals

Probably people might have spotted me and some of them are cursing me right now. But who cares. They want meat, they can buy something from the store. Here on Tower Hills, I like rabbits and meerkats and dassies and little antelopes and warthogs to roam freely and unencumbered. They beautify the place.

I don't know why some people always feel the urge to kill an animal wherever they spot it. Jerks!
