Immigration was meant to improve anyone's living conditions, but I doubt it's an improvement for them if they have to beg in the streets, to deal with drugs or prostitution.

Immigration, Spain and the ostrich

No country can't take on millions of immigrants as well as their own inhabitants. Not even the most powerful and advanced one could.
Spanish Authorities have been strongly criticised for their deaiings so as to prevent the huge mass of people that want to get into Spain and if, possible, to go beyond. Yet, would anyone tell us how this can be prevented if not by force?
For many months, we've read about these black immigrants, aiming at jumping over the Melilla's fence to pass to the other side. There's been repression and many of them have lost their lives in their attempt as well as sailing in small boats across the ocean.
Can I write about this issue without fearing to be branded as a racist?
I am not one nor do I paternalize, saying that in their own lands, they live a lot worse off than on this side of the paradise, which in fact isn't such a paradise, even if they've to beg in the streets, to deal with drugs or prostitution.
There's a problem in Africa that is lasting far too long. Politicians will rather use police forces to push them back or they will look at the other side so as not to see the problem, doing as the ostrich does; burying its head in the sand. Whatever, except for finding joint solutions other than repression or letting them pass.
What Africa needs is a revolt against their own tyrant dictatorships or monarchies and against foreign powers that are draining the land. No more or no less.
We may be against the installation of the fence with sharp blades at the border, and in fact, we are, but can't agree on letting them pass, because no country can hold on millions besides the millions that already live in them.
